Following the reopening, slated for June 10, Gateway says customers will have access to a range of amenities including slot machines, Replay Arena, and table games, with the exception of poker.
"We are delighted to be included in the provincial plan to reopen one of our landmark properties in Edmonton, the Starlight Casino in West Edmonton Mall, and welcome the return of some of our team members and customers," he stated Tony Santo, CEO of Gateway Casinos
“As always, health and safety, our employees and customers are paramount. We look forward to a safe and steady reboot and full operation as it is safe and doable. ”
The Alberta Open for Summer plan aims to ease the constraints in three stages as vaccination targets have been achieved and hospitalizations are falling and targets for all measures to be lifted by the end of June or early July.
The region entered Stage One on June 1 and then met its targets to move to Stage Two on June 10 as long as hospitalizations continued to decline.
"We operate in one of the most regulated business environments in the province with more stringent supervision and control than any other company in the hospitality sector," added Santo.
"At Gateway, we have developed comprehensive health and safety plans that have been independently verified by a health and safety expert and have been submitted to Alberta Health Services and Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Hemp."
