New York casinos can return to 100 percent capacity after Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed that COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted with immediate effect.
At 70 percent of New Yorkers aged 12 or older, they received the first dose of their COVID-19 vaccination series, which the state says the number of cases has plummeted.
State health guidelines and guidelines for the New York Forward industry, including socializing limits, capacity limits, social distancing, cleaning and disinfection, health checkup, and traceable contact information are now optional in commercial settings.
Unvaccinated people are still responsible for wearing masks according to federal CDC guidelines. State health guidelines also continue to apply for large party venues, 12 kindergarten schools, public transportation, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities.
“What New York has done is amazing. Not only do we have the lowest COVID infection rate in the United States of America, we also achieved 70 percent of our vaccinations ahead of schedule. We successfully deployed a weapon that would win the war, and New York led the nation, ”said Cuomo.
“We were driving with Nurse Sandra Lindsay, who was the first in Northwell to take the vaccine and reassured people that it was safe. We have made more than 20 million vaccines, more per capita than any major state in the United States of America.
“Congratulations to the New Yorkers because they did it. We not only survive - we thrive. The state mandates that have proven to be right and got us through this pandemic are being relaxed from today and are effective immediately.
After the state minimum reopening standard is removed, companies have the freedom to choose to lift all or some restrictions, continue to adhere to archived guidelines, or implement other precautions for the health of their employees and customers.
Rivers Casino Schenectady confirmed the return to 100 percent efficiency after running at reduced capacity between 50 and 70 percent since re-opening in September 2020.
It also certifies that all plexiglass protective barriers have been removed from slot machines and table games, and masks are still required for guests and team members who are not fully vaccinated, and optional for guests who are.
