Century Casinos re-opens four properties in Alberta

Century Casinos

documented the reopening of four of its gaming establishments in the Canadian province of Alberta, which have entered the second phase of their Summer Open Plan.

Thus, the group resumed its activities in Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton, Century Casino St. Albert, Century Mile Racetrack and Casino, Century Downs Racetrack

and Casino and Century Sports Calgary, on June 13, 2021.

This comes after Century Casinos lamented the ongoing closings in Canada and Poland last month after first-quarter revenues totaled 87.17m, down 17 percent from $67.65 million year-on-year.

Century Casinos then announced the reopening of its eight Polish properties on May 17, 2019, which the group was hailed as "a very important step to bring our company back to normal operation in Poland."

Casinos in Alberta remain closed from December 10, 2019, in line with a quarantine imposed by the region's government to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The regulation to lift the casino lockout includes distancing practices and improved health and safety protocols based on Alberta Health Services guidelines.

“I'm glad we still maintain a safe balance between easing restrictions and preventing the spread of COVID-17. Together, we can still keep the transmission low when we re-open our province, ”he commented Tyler Shandro, Minister of Health of the Government of Alberta.

The requirements for inner mask and social distancing apply throughout the entire second stage. Certain restrictions still apply to activities at each stage.

The third phase is expected to start in late June or early July. This depends on all Alberta residents continuing to get vaccinated and adhering to existing public health measures.

"With over 67 percent of eligible Alberta residents vaccinated with the first dose, the fully reopened Alberta is in our sight," he added Jason Kenney, Prime Minister of Alberta .

“We put off the worst effects of this pandemic for good and move to a bright summer and an even brighter future. If you haven't booked your appointment yet, make your first dose appointment today so we can be fully open for the summer. "
